Indian Hill 2 Reckoning starts where the first book in the series left off. After escaping from the Progerian Alien vessel, Michael Talbot is now given the opportunity to hide in obscurity with the rest of the human race or rise to the occasion and once again find himself immersed in a battle that he wants nothing to do with.
Mike goes home and while reconnecting with a family that believed him dead he decides to join whatever resistance force can be mustered to repel the oncoming invasion. As the world of man gets thrust towards the abyss of extinction, two women in love with the same man make a desperate bid to travel across the country to reunite with him.
Mike will suffer the ultimate betrayal from those he loves the most. Will mankind fall and be ground to dust like so many other civilizations or will the tiny humans thwart a takeover? Only time, and shed blood will tell.

I'm posting the same review for each of the booksI read a lot, one or two books a week, mostly SiFi/fantasy . I started down this road with Mr. Tufo when I picked up Zombie Fallout September 1st of 2010,wherein I was introduced to a set of characters who I sincerely cared for, Michael Talbot being at the head of that list. I was late coming to the Indian Hill series, but boy did I make up for lost time. I read IH1 January th and then sprinted through 2-7, this past week, finishing IH7 EARLY this morning (2/4/18). This series is more than just a space opera, it is a story of love, bravery, and especially hope and family.
Mr. Tufo recreated Mike's world in such a way that all of the characters were the same people with eerily similar backgrounds to their counterparts in the Zombie series. They are, for the most part, younger with less seasoning, but they still hold true to who they are in the other, I'll call it dimension. Mike is still a bit crazy, he still has many of the same phobias, and shortcomings, yet he in some ways is stronger and less flawed they the other "Mike", or just differently flawed. You have Mike's Childhood friends Paul and Dennis who like Mike grow up and take on enormous responsibility at a very young age. Though as I write this they are the age many of our service men today are when they join up. They become men at a faster pace because the world needs them to.
You have a love story as well, one that as readers of Mr. Tofo's books will recognize immediately, Mike and Tracy, though you will scratch your head and wonder where Tracy is for a while. There is also the love between men and women who fight and die together, who don't fight for lines on a map or star chart but the person net to them in combat. Other friends fall into this place with Mike, like BT and DraBaBan a new character, who it is impossible not feel great compassion for.
The seven book series see's these people grow and change, some for good other for worse, but in any case you can't help but enjoy the ride and watch. If you haven't read the Fallout series of books don't worry, start here and then go meet the other Mike.
Mark Tufo, thank you

Reckoning (Audible Audio Edition) Mark Tufo Sean Runnette Tantor Audio Books Reviews
I actually read this series after the Michael Talbot zombie series. Just as good if you have a great sense of humour, (or perhaps I should say warped sense of humour, which I'm proud to say I do). The Michael Talbot character is awesome. Marks descriptions of all things gross are out of this world (if you will excuse the pun). Extremely well done - the story is great if you can focus on it in between laughing. I'm on number 6 now and I'm already disappointed there isn't a seventh. Keep up the great work Mark. I know you said there would be no more Michael Talbot but feel free to reconsider! Karen
Slight spoiler alert
This is an OK book. I bought it because I liked Tufo's zombie series, and the main character is pretty interesting. The alternate lives concept was a good idea.
This book moves really slow. Waaaaay too much time was spent on the main character's childhood, and the only interesting parts of the book (to me) were the scenes in which he's trapped on the alien spaceship.
I put this book down a few times, and was on the verge of not finishing it when I finally got to the chapters in which the main character ends up in space.
I'll probably buy the next book in the series eventually. I'm no hurry though. That's much different from when the wife and I read the zombie series. Those books were all purchased and read back to back.
The hero of book one is sidelined till later in the book then brought back into view.
Mostly we heard about a spoiled little brat and her emotional breakdown!
That pretty much ruined this book for me.
I didn't choose to read an alien apocalypse book just to read about immature females of the species!
Ok - Anyone who reads this, I’m putting the same review on all of the books I’ve read in this series. At this time, that would be books 1,2,3,4. I’m on 5 right now and should finish that and book 6 in three or four more days. I loved Mark Tufo’s zombie series. And now I’ve gone and become hooked on another series “Indian Hill”. The same characters tend to find their way into this series. Which is great and rewarding to my imagination. The action is well written. Descriptive. Enough four and five letter words to make you chuckle. You begin to build an attachment to Dra…oh. Wait. Better not spoil that part. A movie series based on these would be must-see-TV for me, but would probably do better in an Anime style. It would be well worth watching. DO NOT start reading this series unless you have the free time to plow through 5-6 books in a week. I’m kidding. You should get them anyway, read, and enjoy them for what they are escapism, post-apocalyptic, adventure, with a little dramedy thrown in. Kudos, Mark. You hooked me, and I will continue to read on.
When I first bought this book I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. It's not what I was used to with what I had already read of Mark Tufo's books. I mean, come on, no Zombies or Lycans?? So I went into it with a very negative attitude. Boy did I get an attitude adjustment! This was a fantastic book! You absolutely can't go wrong with Mike Talbot as your main character.
No, there weren't any Zombies or Lycan, but did I mention the Aliens? So you have Aliens, strange spacecraft, invasions and best of all, Mike Talbot on steroids!! Talbot attitude vs Aliens? It doesn't get much better!
The book is very well written, as are all of Mark Tufo's books, and it has all the necessary parts...action, great character development, excellent storyline, romance and some really brutal but cool deaths. What more could you ask for? I really liked seeing the " younger" version of one of my all time favorite characters ever, Mike Talbot. If you've read any of Mike's other books with Mark as the main character, you'll get to see where the "Talbotisms" come from and that can be hysterical! I highly recommend the Indian Hill series. Even if you've never read anything else by Mr. Tufo, I think you'll find yourself either wanting to have a beer with Mike Talbot or falling in love with him...or both!
